MANUAL CONFIGURATIONS

How can I configure my smartphone running on Android operating system to access the internet, WAP or send and receive MMS?

To configure internet access on smartphones with Android operating system

1. Go to Settings> Wireless & networks
2. Under "Wireless & networks", place a tick on "Mobile network" and click on "Mobile networks"
3. Under "Mobile network settings", click on "Access Point Names"
4. Under "APNs", remove any existing APN settings for internet access (if any). Click on "Menu key" and select "New APN"
  1. For Name, enter Emtel
  2. For APN, enter web
  3. Leave all other entries blank
  4. Save

To configure MMS on smartphones with Android operating system

1. Go to Settings> Wireless & networks
2. Under "Wireless & networks", place a tick on "Mobile network" and click on "Mobile networks"
3. Under "Mobile network settings", click on "Access Point Names"
4. Under "APNs", remove any existing APN settings for MMS access (if any). Click on "Menu key" and select "New APN"
  1. For Name, enter Emtel
  2. For APN, enter MMS
  3. For Proxy, enter 192.168.0.214
  4. For Username, enter 230XXXXXXX(Emtel customer mobile phone number)
  5. For Password, enter mmsc
  6. For MMS Proxy, enter 198.168.0.7
  7. For Port, enter 8080
  8. Leave all other entries blank
  9. Save

To configure WAP access on smartphones with Android operating system

1. Go to Settings> Wireless & networks
2. Under "Wireless & networks", place a tick on "Mobile network" and click on "Mobile networks"
3. Under "Mobile network settings", click on "Access Point Names"
4. Under "APNs", remove any existing APN settings for WAP access (if any). Click on "Menu key" and select "New APN"
  1. For Name, enter Emtel

  3. For Proxy, enter 192.168.0.214

  5. For Password, enter mmsc
  6. For MMS Proxy, enter 198.168.0.7

How can I configure my Apple iPhone or iPad to access the internet or send and receive MMS?

To configure internet access on Apple iPhones and iPads

1. Go to Settings> General>Network
2. Under "Network" settings, select "Cellular Data Network"
3. Under "Cellular Data" section, for APN, enter web
4. Leave Username and Password blank

To activate MMS service on Apple iPhones and iPads

1. Go to Settings> General>Network
2. Under "Network" settings, select "Cellular Data Network"
3. Under "MMS" section,
  1. For APN, enter MMS
  2. For Username, enter 230XXXXXXX (Emtel customer mobile phone number)
  3. For Password, enter tecnotree
  4. For MMSC, enter http://192.168.0.25:8514
  5. For MMS Proxy, enter 192.168.0.25:8514
  6. For MMS Max Message Size, enter 307200
  7. For MMS UA Prof URL, leave it blank
4. Restart iPhone and iPad
5. Send an MMS to own number or other number to activate MMS service
How can I configure my Nokia mobile phone to access the internet?

To configure internet access on Nokia mobile phones (C3 series)

1. Go to Menu> Settings> Configuration> Personal settings
2. Under "Personal Account", click on "Add" and select "Web"
  1. For Account name, enter Emtel Internet
  2. For User name, leave it blank
  3. For Password, leave it blank
  4. For Use preferred access pt, select "No"
3. Click on "Access point settings", select "Disable" for Proxy
4. Click on "Bearer settings" followed by "Packet data access pt" and select Emtel Internet
  1. For "Authentication type" and select "Secure"
  2. For User name, leave it blank
  3. For Password, leave it blank
5. Click "Back" three times, select "Emtel Internet" and click on "Activate"
6. Restart the mobile phone

To configure internet access on Nokia mobile phones (C7, E6 series)

1. Go to Menu> Settings> Connectivity> Settings> Destinations> Internet
2. Under "Internet", click on "Options" and select "New access point"
3. When the message "Automatically check for available access points" appears (if any), select "No"
4. Click on "Packet data" and for Packet data access point name, enter Emtel Internet
5. If "Emtel Internet" has priority 1, skip step no. 6 and go to step 7.
6. Click on "Emtel Internet" for a second until a popup window is displayed. Select "Change priority" and choose the first priority.
7. Click on "Emtel Internet"
  1. For Connection name, enter Emtel
  2. For Data bearer, select "Packet data"
  3. For Access point name, enter web
  4. For User name, leave it blank
  5. For Prompt password, select "No"
  6. For Password, leave it blank
  7. For Authentication, select "Secure"
  8. For Homepage, select "None"
8. Go to Menu> Web and click on "Options"
9. Under "Settings", click on "General"
  1. For Access point, click on "Options" and select "Emtel Internet"
  2. For Homepage, click on "Options" and select "Standard"
10. Restart the mobile phone

To configure internet access on Nokia mobile phones (E5 series)

1. Go to Menu> Control Panel> Settings> Connection> Destinations> Internet
2. Under "Internet", click on "Options" and select "New access point"
3. When the message "Automatically check for available access points" appears (if any), select "No"
4. Click on "Packet data" and for Packet data access point name, enter Emtel Internet
5. If "Emtel" has priority 1, skip step no. 6 and go to step 7.
6. Click on "Emtel Internet" for a second until a popup window is displayed. Select "Change priority" and choose the first priority.
7. Click on "Emtel Internet"
  1. For Connection name, enter Emtel
  2. For Data bearer, select "Packet data"
  3. For Access point name, enter web
  4. For User name, leave it blank
  5. For Prompt password, select "No"
  6. For Password, leave it blank
  7. For Authentication, select "Secure"
  8. For Homepage, select "None"
  9. For Use access point, select "Automatically"
  10. Click "Back" twice
8. Under "Network destinations", click on Internet and select "Emtel Internet"
9. Go to Menu> Internet> Web and click on "Options"
10. Under "Settings", click on "General"
  1. For Access point, click on "Options" and select "Emtel Internet"
  2. For Homepage, click on "Options" and select "Standard"
11. Restart the mobile phone

To configure MMS settings on Nokia mobile phone (C3 Series)

1. Start screen.
2. Go to Menu>Settings>Configuration>Personal settings>
3. Under 'Personal accounts', click on 'Options', and select 'Add new'
4. Click on 'Multimedia message',
  1. For Account name, enter Emtel MMS
  2. For server address, enter http://192.168.0.25:8514
  3. Click on 'Access point settings'
  4. For Proxy, select 'Enable'
  5. For Proxy address, enter 192.168.0.214
  6. For Proxy port, enter 8080
  7. For Packet data access point, enter MMS
  8. Click on 'Authentication type', select Secure
  9. For Username, enter 230xxxxxxx(Emtel customer mobile number)
  10. For Password, enter MMSC
5. Choose "Back" three times
6. Under "Personal accounts", select "Emtel MMS" and click on "Activate"
7. Restart the mobile phone

To configure MMS settings on Nokia mobile phone (E5 Series)

1. Start screen.
2. Go to Menu>Control Panel>Settings>Connection>Destinations>Multimedia msg
3. Under 'Multimedia msg', click on 'Options', and select 'New access point'
4. Select 'No' if prompt "Automatically check for available access points?"
5. Under "Multimedia msg",
  1. For Packet data, enter Emtel MMS
  2. For connection name, enter Emtel MMS
  3. Click on 'Access point name'
  4. For Username, enter 230xxxxxxx(Emtel customer mobile number)
  5. For prompt password, select No
  6. For Password, enter MMSC
  7. For Authentication, select Secure
  8. Click on "Use access point"
  9. For proxy server address, enter 192.168.0.214
  10. For Proxy port number, enter 8080
6. Under Menu, Click on "Messaging", select "New message"
7. Under settings, Click on "Multimedia message"
  1. Click on "Access point in use", select Emtel MMS
8. Restart the mobile phone
